AIDS Symptoms: The Deadly Virus

One of the health problems that the world is facing now is the issue about this deadly disease called AIDS or also known as HIV. It was estimated that more than forty million worldwide are living with this kind of disease and twenty five million have died from this disease. The epidemic is growing rapidly and keeps on increasing for about twenty percent (20%) every year. Worldwide, eighty five percent (85%) of this transmission disease is through heterosexual intercourse. More than a thousands of people with this infection die each years. Gay, bisexual, and other men or women with more than one partner are strongly affected with this virus.

AIDS stand for Acquired Immunodeficiency Deficiency Syndrome, this virus is causes by infection of the human immune system and manifest when the virus has destroyed in the immune cell. Those people with this kind of disease have weakened immune system; they are more prone to infections called opportunistic infections. Some people who were infected with this virus do not notice it immediately.

This infection is commonly diagnosed by blood tests. There are three primarily test that commonly used:
(1) RNA Tests
(2) HIV antibody tests
(3) Test that detects both antibodies and a piece of the virus called the p24 protein.

Symptoms of aids is caused by the deterioration of the immune system, as soon as HIV enters the body, it will begin to destroy these cells. There are people experience signs and symptoms as soon as they were affected, while others are not. Here are the initial aids symptoms:

Fever
Headache
Tiredness
Nausea
Diarrhea
Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, armpits or groin

Most of the aids symptoms are similar with other viral infection if you can notice. The only way to make sure is that you need to undergo a series of examination or test to determine if a patient is really affected with this epidemic disease.
Many people affected with this disease are diagnosed after a couple of years. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) gives later signs and symptoms of this deadly infection or virus:

Weight loss
Dry cough
Fever and night sweat
Fatigue
Swollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
Diarrhea that lasted more than a week
White spots, blemishes on the tongue
Pneumonia
Depression and other neurological disorders.

The very important things that a patient who is suffering from this kind of disease must consult his/her doctor regularly. The doctor can help the patient to fight and deal with this kind of virus. It is natural to a person who is diagnosed with this kind of disease feel depression and sometimes if they can control their emotion. They ended up suicide.
